Further Rollout Of Rolec Smart EV Charging Points Across The UK For The National Trust

April 2nd 2019

A further range of Rolec AutoCharge and Quantum EV smart charging pedestals have been installed at National Trust sites around the UK.

Locations with new Rolec EV charging facilities include Heddon’s Mouth in Devon, Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire and Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire.

Another of the locations which received a number of Rolec EV smart charging pedestals was the Trust's headquarters in Wiltshire, a 'green building' in Swindon specially built for the National Trust over a decade ago.

Karen Bird, Facilities Manager for the National Trust, commented: "These recent electric vehicle charging point installations were carried out as part of our national contract with Rolec EV.

"Some installations are still ongoing, with the most recently completed series including seven charging units for staff and visitors to use at the National Trust's headquarters.

"These EV charging points are working out very well - things are going very smoothly and we have no complaints. The fact that we could have them custom branded was great.

"Rolec EV offered a very competitive price for these units. We opted for their EV Charge Online system, and ended up with exactly the EV charging solution we wanted."

As Karen mentioned, Rolec EV charging units installed for the National Trust feature Rolec's smart EV Charge Online system - which has proven to be extremely popular in the public facing arena.

Rolec’s Business Development Manager Tim Waitt commented: “EV Charge Online allows each and every EV driver to simply pull up to a charge point on the network and access the charging unit via their mobile phone without the need for any RFID cards or commitment to joining any specific charging network - therefore avoiding unnecessary annual subscription fees, monthly membership fees and costly ongoing connection charges.”

Karen continued: "We are always trying to encourage more and more National Trust locations to install EV charging points, as this meets the Trust's sustainability and environmental ethos, as well as its Green Travel policy.

"I have no doubt we will continue to install further Rolec EV charging points around our UK sites as demand dictates.“
