Private On-Street EV Charging By Rolec

August 25th 2017

Rolec EV has manufactured and supplied what is thought to be the UK’s first on-street private domestic electric vehicle (EV) charging post.

Managing Director of Rolec, Kieron Alsop, commented: “We designed the StreetServ EV Charging Post to provide those EV drivers who have no access to off-street parking with their own private on-street EV charging point complete with personalised security access.

“StreetServ was recently installed by our specialist EV installation partner SRG Electrical for a private homeowner in Margate, who received special permission and a parking permit from Thanet District Council, along with a supporting grant, for the charging point to be installed by the roadside.”

The StreetServ EV Charging Post has been specially designed to provide a robust, heavy duty, hard wearing EV charging solution. The units incorporate a lockable Type 2, Mode 3, 16amp or 32amp EV charging point, alongside a hatchlock facility and 13amp Mode 2 charging socket.
