Rolec EV Partners Ploughcroft Renewables
June 7th 2012Rolec EV is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership with leading solar installer and renewable energy specialist, Ploughcroft Renewables of Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
Our MD, Kieron Alsop, comments, “After only 30 minutes of meeting with Chris Hopkins, Ploughcroft’s Managing Director and his management team, we were convinced that Ploughcroft Renewables was the ideal company to partner Rolec EV in our quest to offer a nationwide installation, breakdown and support service to the EV charging infrastructure industry”.
With Rolec EV already offering the UK’s largest and most diverse range of EV charging stations and accessories, the next step was to impliment a nationwide network of trained and approved EV charging station installers.
Ploughcroft Renewables not only has its own extensive installation teams already specialising in the Renewables sector, but it also has its own approved installer training division.
The division known as Ploughcroft Training, specialises in training third party contractors on how to correctly install solar panels to CITB government approved standards.
Over the past four years, Ploughcroft Training has trained over 120 companies throughout the UK and has access to all of these companies enabling it to provide a unique, nationwide network of co-ordinated and approved PV installers.
The Rolec EV / Ploughcroft Renewables partnership has already started, with Rolec firstly training Ploughcroft Training instructors and installation engineers about the:
- Electric vehicle industry
- The requirements of electric vehicles
- Rolec EV product ranges
- Installation methods
- How to maintain Rolec EV charging stations
This process is now complete and Ploughcroft Renewables has, over the last four to five weeks, created a new official training programme that is at this very moment going through its CITB recognition and approval process.
The new training programme will allow pre-approved electrical contractors to send an engineer(s) for a one day training course. The engineers will have extensive theory and practical training on the full range of Rolec EV products before sitting an exam related to the day’s training.
Once an electrical contractor is approved, they will be included on a UK wide register of approved installation contractors for the Rolec EV product range.
As and when enquiries are received by Rolec EV, Ploughcroft or any of its electrical wholesaler partners, these enquiries will be distributed to the approved contractor in that particular area.
The training courses are due to start late in June 2012 with over 100 enquiries already been received and booked for the first group of courses.
For more information about the approved EV charging installation courses contact rolec@rolecserv.co.uk, Ploughcroft or go to any electrical wholesaler and ask for details.
