Rolec's new rope lighting

Mon 16 Nov 2009

We are delighted to be in a position to add the new rope lighting to our already comprehensive range of marina lighting systems. We worked closely with a number of rope lighting manufacturers until we were confident that we could produce a marine-grade version of rope light able to cope with the harsh environments associated with global marinas. The result of these efforts has produced a hard-wearing, easy to install, flexible LED rope light manufactured to the highest standards including:

      IP67 weather-proof rating

      UV stabilised

      Sea water resistant

      Operating temperature -30˚C to +65˚C

30,000 to 50,000 hour life expectancy

Available in a variety of colours

      Extremely low running  costs

       Safe low-voltage operation (12V DC)

The rope light is usually installed just under the pontoon fender but can also be installed down the sides of the pontoon service channels, around the pile guides, down the sides of the access bridges or even around the quay walls. The effect of the rope light is instant and magical with the light output illuminating the top of the water and the sides of the moored boats. In a recent project we provided a complete marina lighting solution including blue LED rope light around the fenders of the pontoons and fingers, blue and white LED combi lights on the walkways and access bridges and matching blue LED lighting on the pedestals and the effect was simply stunning.
