Rolec Delivers Expert Solutions Across Bahrain’s Waterfronts with Two Landmark Marina Projects
As the only island nation within the Persian Gulf, Bahrain offers a unique perspective on life by the water. Its contrasting skyline of high-rise commercial hubs, traditional markets, and cultural landmarks meets the picturesque backdrop of the Arabian Gulf, creating an atmosphere of limitless possibility which sets the stage for some of Rolec’s latest marina projects.
Its naturally open borders make it a destination for visitors to gather, either for pleasure, leisure or business and as such United Marine Technology came to us with a desire to empower this development with practical, accessible and stylish integrated hardware and software solution tailored to the local environment.
The Rolec Marina department created a comprehensive hardware network made up of a combination of single phase and three phase service pedestals from 16amp to 125amp, as well as emergency service (SOS) pedestals, a sophisticated three phase pump-out system and an array of over 400 LED deck lights. All of which have been tailor-made with bespoke branding to encapsulate the location’s elegance and luxury.
Through a combined software solution of LoRaWAN technology and our BerthVend smart metering system, the Bahrain Marina Club benefits from accessible and intuitive energy tracking across the site — designed to simplify management, improve resource efficiency, and enhance the guest experience.

Speaking of the region, Steve King, Senior Electrical Engineer & Qualifying Manager at Rolec, said: ‘It is a privilege to provide United Marine Trading with bespoke products and services on their landmark projects. After 15 years of partnership, our excitement remains as strong as ever, and we look forward to continuing to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that enhance the marina experience.’
Continuing our work across Bahrain’s stunning waterfronts, Rolec has also partnered on the Dilmunia Marina, part of the ambitious Dilmunia Island development.
For this project, the Rolec Marina department delivered a tailor-made hardware and service package. This included 31 Quantum pedestals with a mix of 16A and 32A sockets and integrated water taps, 11 SOS pedestals and three fire caddies for safety and emergency support, and 134 bespoke combi deck lights to illuminate the pontoons with both elegance and functionality.
With more than 35 years at the forefront of the industry, Rolec has seen firsthand how thoughtfully designed marina infrastructure can transform both functionality and visitor experience. From initial concept to completion, we create solutions that are not only reliable and efficient but also built to adapt for the future. Beyond hardware, we offer guidance on annual testing and inspection standards, integrate smart metering and utility management, and advise on funding strategies for sustainable developments. Complementary services such as development surveys, M&E design, and project management allow us to work alongside teams to anticipate challenges, streamline operations, and ensure marinas perform seamlessly.
