Rolec provide smart metered hook-up solutions to Nant Newydd Caravan Park

Situated on the east side of the Isle of Anglesey, Nant Newydd Caravan Park opted for Rolec’s smart card metered caravan hook-up solutions to ensure their destination is equipped with a solution that best meets their requirements and the needs of their customers.

To complete the project, Rolec worked closely with S J Ward Electrical to provide water and power facilities by providing sixty-one QUANTUM illuminated touring pedestals and fifteen post-mounted hook-up connection units.

Like all Rolec’s metered systems, the smart card units used in this project are CE compliant and MID Class 1 approved so guarantee billing accuracy which, with today’s soaring energy prices, is reassuring for end users who can be confident they are only paying for the electricity they are consuming. Meanwhile, site owners will have peace of mind knowing that they are only supplying energy which has been paid for.

Smart card meters are a cost-effective and reliable way of managing caravan/holiday park’s electric supplies. The package includes smart cards, a card reader/writer, and the Windows™ software required to access the cards and view transactions.

The software is simple and easy to use and enables the essential functionality of setting the rate to be paid by holidaymakers for the electricity they will use. When selling electricity, just enter the amount of credit required, transfer it to the card and the holidaymaker can be on their way. At the meter they only need to insert the card and the credit will automatically transfer and power will be made available.

After a successful design and installation, Nant Newydd Caravan Park found a requirement for a further nine of the modern and stylish QUANTUM touring pedestals which will enable them to cater for even more visitors in the future.
