One Charger, Two Outlets, Unlimited Style NEWS EV Charging One Charger, Two Outlets, Unlimited Style 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 Whilst the world has been busy adapting to the new life of plug-in vehicles and charging infrastructures, we’ve been busy working away behind the scenes on something new and now the countdown is officially over. We’re super pleased to announce the launch of Zura; a sleek, innovative electric vehicle charger, that has been designed and manufactured to suit both commercial and domestic charging requirements. A game-changing product, that’s complete with never-seen-before personalisation, packed with the most wanted smart features, whilst presenting the choice of either a single or dual outlet. The Zura brings you a more aesthetically pleasing charger that can be activated with either an RFID card or smart device. One of Zura’s many features is that it has a customisable fascia, giving you free rein on what goes on the front of your electric vehicle chargepoint. Whether it’s your favourite place, your company logo, or an image of your pet, the choice is entirely yours. This unit has been proudly designed and manufactured in the UK and fully complies with the latest Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 which come into force from the 30th of June & 30th of December 2022. Zura for the home The Zura, is one of our most intelligent home charging solutions to date and is packed with all your most-wanted smart charging features. For households with more than one plug-in vehicle or simply wanting to future-proof, the Zura, is available in a single or double outlet model, providing a cost-effective solution by eliminating the requirement of an extra chargepoint. It is important to note that the Zura is complete with automatic dynamic load balancing and built-in TruePEN PME fault detection, that ensures the homes fuse is protected whilst providing a safe charging solution, without the requirement for an earth electrode/rod. Plus, to save on installation time and costs, this unit has an independent back plate. Not only is this unit compatible with all EVs and PHEVs, eligible for OZEV grant funding and charges ten times faster than a standard domestic socket, it also provides an easy, seamless charging experience, allowing drivers to charge their vehicles by using an app or RFID card. Users can benefit from smart features, such as the ability to integrate with any major UK energy supplier; tariff driven charging; Alexa voice control; solar compatibility; locking of the charger and much more! You can count on the Zura to provide you with the ultimate charging experience. Zura for the workplace The beauty of the Zura is that it is suitable for both domestic and workplace use, being OCCP compliant means it can connect to any app or smart back-office management system in the world, including our very own, VendElectric. Again, business owners will be presented with the choice of either a single or dual outlet model, that’s complete with universal socket(s) offering charging speeds of up to 7.2kW or 22kW. Equipped with both TruePEN PME fault detection and dynamic load balancing, this electric vehicle charger provides simultaneous charging of up to two vehicles. Our bespoke branding service enables businesses to express their corporate identity through having their logo or branding feature on the fascia. Whilst Zura may be the perfect space-saving solution due to being a wall-mounted unit, it is also cost-effective and OZEV approved allowing businesses to benefit from grant funding towards the purchase and installation of the chargepoint. On top of this, VendElectric allows businesses to set their own charging tariffs that not only generate additional revenue but also provide a quick return on the initial investment of the chargepoint. By opting to integrate with our smart back-office management system, VendElectric, you’ll also benefit from visibility of real-time charging activity; analytic feedback; electrical load management; over-the-air updates and more! - What Grants are Available to Renters and Flat Owners with Electric Cars?
What Grants are Available to Renters and Flat Owners with Electric Cars? BLOG EV Charging What Grants are Available to Renters and Flat Owners with Electric Cars? Chloe Sharp 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 According to the 2021 census, 21.7% of people in England and Wales lived in apartments . That’s 5.4 million people . Yet, rental properties have been noticeably neglected by the EV industry since popularity first started to rise. When we think of home charging , the first thing that probably comes to mind is the image of a charger secured to the side of a house with a car parked nicely besides it. But for people who are living in rented accommodation, it’s not even possible to paint the walls, let alone install an EV charge point to the outside of your building. Not to mention people living in apartment complexes who don’t even have access to an exterior wall that isn’t six stories high. The main issue seems to be having somewhere to plug in your electric car. Cars are an investment, so why would you spend money on one if you have nowhere to charge it? The Juicy Details Other incentives have been introduced by the UK Government to help tackle this issue, like the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), which has now been replaced by the EV chargepoint grant. Although phased out for homeowners, funding for apartments is still in effect . The grant offers applicants either £350 or a 75% cost reduction towards the cost of purchasing and installing the charger. You have until 31st March 2024 to apply. Do apply if you: · Own (or lease) an OZEV approved electric vehicle or have one on order. You can find a link to this list on the OZEV website. Leased vehicles, for work or for personal use, must have at least 6 months on the lease. Keep proof of your lease or pre-order at the ready, since these will need to be shown to your local EV charge point installer. · Live in a flat in the UK Homeowners who live in flats and people living in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties). · Have access to a private, off-street parking space . Don’t apply if you: · Are going to move (or you’re planning on moving) soon. · Already have a charge point installed. Yes, even if that charger you have isn’t compatible with your new car. Or if you want to change the location of the charger. · Have already claimed this grant or other similar schemes. · Own and are living in a house. Don’t worry though, it’s not all doom and gloom. If you aren’t eligible for this grant, OZEV are offering funding for a range of different circumstances. Your landlord can also claim through the EV infrastructure grant for residential car parks, which gives them up to £30,000 of additional capital to go towards financing the installation of EV charge points. - £100M Debt Financing Facility Drives Go Zero and Rolec’s Mission Towards Nationwide Destination Charging
£100M Debt Financing Facility Drives Go Zero and Rolec’s Mission Towards Nationwide Destination Charging NEWS EV Charging £100M Debt Financing Facility Drives Go Zero and Rolec’s Mission Towards Nationwide Destination Charging 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 Rolec and Go Zero are joining forces on a mission to accelerate the deployment of EV infrastructure across the UK’s hospitality sector, providing leisure destinations and hotels with reliable and scalable charging solutions. With a £100M debt financing facility secured by Go Zero, this partnership has the financial strength to roll out multi-bay EV hubs at scale through Go Zero’s VendEx model, removing large upfront capital expenditure for businesses. 90% of EV drivers prefer destinations with chargepoints, but only six per cent of city hotels in the UK currently offer EV charging. More than 1.3 million electric vehicles are already on UK roads, and close to 40 per cent of new car registrations at the end of last year were plug-in models. EV drivers are no longer a niche group, they are business commuters, families, and international visitors, and increasingly, they expect to plug in as easily as they connect to Wi-Fi when they arrive at a hotel. Yet destinations remain underserved, highlighting a clear gap in the market and a substantial opportunity for those eager to act now. With Go Zero and Rolec working together, financial barriers are removed, enabling businesses to implement charging infrastructure quickly and efficiently while generating recurring revenue. Go Zero provides sector expertise, local engagement with national coverage, and a strong focus on guest-friendly solutions, ensuring every installation is practical, seamless, and aligned with business goals. Go Zero’s ownership of its CPO software aligns seamlessly with Rolec’s strategic direction for its hardware and software roadmap. Rolec further complements this with UK-based manufacturing, technical support, and a national partner network, enabling simultaneous installation and management across sites, backed by a proven range of AC and DC hardware. This combination ensures that caravan parks, holiday parks, theme parks, hotels, resorts, shopping centres, sports stadiums, and other destination sites can implement public EV infrastructure confidently and as a priority. Projects have already been completed, with many more booked over the coming months. Speaking on the partnership, Andy Taylor, CEO of Go Zero, said: ‘Securing this £100M debt facility is a strong vote of confidence in Go Zero’s strategy and growth prospects within hospitality. With funding in place, we can fully deliver our current project pipeline, expand rapidly across key hotel locations, and continue providing scalable, guest-friendly charging solutions. Partnering with Rolec for hardware supply ensures faster installation, multi-bay EV hubs, and a bigger national footprint, bringing our vision of 10,000 sockets closer to reality.’ Darren North, National Sales Manager at Rolec, added: 'Destination charging isn’t yet where it should be, and this partnership represents a significant step toward addressing that gap. By combining Go Zero’s funding expertise with Rolec’s UK-manufactured hardware, technical capability, and nationwide installer network, we are enabling businesses to introduce EV charging with no upfront cost. The benefits extend beyond sustainability, charging infrastructure boosts visits, longer dwell times, and higher local spend, while also supporting operators in achieving their net zero goals. Together, we are building a future-proof network that serves drivers, businesses, and communities across the UK.' - Future-proofing your holiday home with electric vehicle charging
Future-proofing your holiday home with electric vehicle charging BLOG EV Charging Future-proofing your holiday home with electric vehicle charging 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 More and more holiday homeowners are now offering electric vehicle charging to their visitors and why shouldn’t they? Doing your bit for the environment and purchasing a zero-emission vehicle shouldn’t cause any inconvenience further down the line. Unfortunately, many people are still struggling to find self-catering accommodations that provide the facilities to recharge their vehicles because there are so few. However, now is the perfect time to prepare and install electric vehicle charging stations to your destination as it will allow you to start offering your charging facilities ready for the next holiday season. By installing electric vehicle charging points at your holiday home/cottage, you and your visitors can experience a whole host of features and benefits. You’ll be able to accommodate for all types of visitors, which will attract and encourage many more holidaymakers and UK staycation enthusiasts to stay at your holiday home. Your accommodation will immediately provide EV driving guests with an even more relaxing stay, as well as a peace of mind knowing that they can recharge as and when they need to. They won’t be restricted on how far they can travel to explore while visiting and will be able to leave with a full charge when it’s time to travel home. That eliminates any stress of trying to find the nearest EV charging station in an unfamiliar area, by implementing electric vehicle charging points at your holiday home/cottage alone can provide EV driving guests with an overall positive stay from start to finish. As electric vehicle drivers are always on the look-out for destinations with the facilities to recharge; more than often, electric vehicle drivers will visit a destination more than once if the destination provided EV charging. Installing electric vehicle charging points at your holiday home/cottage could generate a loyal customer base, especially if holiday homes/cottages nearby do not offer the facilities to recharge electric vehicles. The popular, established company “Airbnb” have just recently introduced a filter to their website/ app where you can narrow your search to only show listings that offer electric vehicle charging facilities, this will provide your holiday home/ cottage more exposure to the public, which can lead to an increased footfall, which in turn allows you to generate additional revenue. A common factor that can discourage people from installing an electric charging infrastructure is the costs associated with the purchase and installation of the charging points, but did you know that with the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV grant) you can receive a grant of up to £350 off each socket. With our OZEV grant funded electric vehicle charging points, you can generate additional revenue by setting chargepoint user tariffs. By doing this, your holiday home/ cottage can easily generate additional revenue, whilst also maximising chargepoint return on investment. The environment needs protecting more now than ever before and many people are beginning to opt for “eco-friendly holidays” to reduce their carbon footprint. As a result, many climate-conscious holidaymakers are choosing to holiday in the UK, travelling to and from their desired destinations driving their zero-emissions vehicles. Deploying electric vehicle charging stations at your holiday home/ cottage shows that you’re encouraging environmental change, which could potentially attract eco-friendly holidaymakers. - Record breaking year for electric vehicles in 2021
Record breaking year for electric vehicles in 2021 NEWS EV Charging Record breaking year for electric vehicles in 2021 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 2021; a challenging year for the overall automotive industry, but a prosperous year for the electric vehicle industry and alike. With hashtags such as #TheFutureIsElectric and #ElectricCarsAreTheFuture trending across social media channels; major electrification announcements at COP26; further government funding towards the UK’s charging infrastructure and mandatory charging infrastructure requirements, evidently, we are steering towards a cleaner and greener future. Sustainable travel and transport are set to be focal discussion points for the coming years, however interestingly, the significant uptake of zero-emission vehicles is already presenting the industry with direction, confidence and encouragement. Last year presented a record-breaking year for electric vehicle registrations with 190,727 BEVs, 114,55 PHEVs and 147,246 HEVs registered, equating to 27.5% of the overall vehicle market share. In fact, BEV registrations in 2021 were higher than BEV registrations from the years 2016-2020 combined! A visible paradigm shift is taking place in which drivers are choosing to electrify as opposed to continuing driving ICE vehicles; a concept that wouldn’t have crossed the minds of many decades ago. As people become more aware of the lasting implications of climate change, people are changing their daily behaviours and habits to reduce their carbon footprint. Adopting an electric vehicle plays a crucial role in preserving the environment by decreasing carbon emissions output into the atmosphere, therefore opting for a greener alternative is a no-brainer for environmentally conscious individuals. Choice of electric vehicle and plug-in models have also increased across the years, with over 40% of vehicle models now available in plug-in derivatives, meaning that drivers are provided with greater choice than ever before when it comes to making the switch. Vehicle range was previously a concern for the majority, however due to technological advancements in the motor industry, car manufacturers are able to offer electric vehicles with ranges suitable for longer journeys, thus increasing confidence. 2021 saw the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Lexus, BMW, Volkswagen and more announce that electrification plays a significant role in their future plans, suggesting that more and more electric vehicles are set to reach the UK market within the next year and so forth. With various electric vehicle models already accessible within the UK, a further increase in choice will provide current ICE drivers with more of a reason to switch should they find their perfect match. We simply cannot discuss the rise in electric vehicles without a mention of cost savings! Although the initial outlay of opting for an electrified model may prove to be costly for some, immediately the driver can see cost savings in overall running costs. Paying less to recharge as opposed to filling up at the petrol station; government grant funding towards the purchase of an electric vehicle; government grant funding towards the purchase of an EV charging point and integrating with cheaper and greener energy tariffs all pose significant financial savings for drivers’ futures. Not to mention, company car drivers who benefit from 2% BiK (Benefit in Kind) tax. It is to no surprise that the electric vehicle market experienced its strongest year in 2021, despite the challenges and complications that the overall vehicle industry faced. With fiscal incentives in place, increased choice in vehicle models and a shift in mindset regarding the environment, it was inevitable that electric vehicles were going to experience their ‘moment.’ In our eyes, the only way is up and we are excited to be a part of the UK’s electrified journey ahead.
