In this edition, we’re sailing from south to the midlands, diving deep into the projects and developments that have been making waves. Launching from Chelsea Harbour and sailing right up to Sawley Marina, we have plenty of news to update you with. Keep reading to find out more. Chelsea Harbour Chelsea Harbour, an urban oasis in West London on the River Thames, is not only one of the most famous and luxurious maritime sites, but also one of the most attractive and desirable locations in the city. With them feeling the need for a refurbishment, Rolec stepped in to help. Working in partnership with our long-standing partner, Power Portal, Rolec installed bespoke Quantum service pedestals. They were fully equipped with LED lighting and the BerthMaster smart service management and operating system. We were privileged to be part of this incredible project at Chelsea Harbour and to showcase Rolec's innovative solutions at such a prestigious location. Roydon Marina Village Across to Roydon Marina Village, a luxury holiday oasis, offering moorings, lodges, and residential park homes as well as a hotel and boathouse café. Their 315-berth marina offers moorings of up 70 feet in length, enabling them to accommodate most narrowboats. Currently, they are undergoing a two-phase expansion, with phase one completed in March 2024. Rolec made significant moves in the first phase of Roydon’s marina extension by supplying Quantum service pedestals, SmartCard metering system and a substantial addition of EV charging infrastructure for the marina’s staff and guest parking facilities. Brinklow Marina Sailing north to Brinklow Waterside & Marina, on the Northern Arm of the Oxford Canal in Warwickshire. In addition to this marina, there are 28 other marinas in this network that are located all over the country, from those nestled within the English countryside and those located in the heart of cities. In these ever-changing tides of waterway travel, a new wave of electric and hybrid narrowboats has emerged! To support this new wave, our dedicated marina team proudly delivered Brinklow’s first ever electric boat charging point, and just in time for the inaugural ELECTRIKA Boat Show where some 19 electric narrowboats made full use. This new Quantum charger features 2 sockets and is personalised with Brinklow’s branding. It also includes LED amenity lighting and is enclosed by mirrors, seamlessly blending into its environmental surroundings. Sawley Marina Finally, Sawley Marina, a tranquil setting, on a navigational cut of the River Trent near Long Eaton in Nottinghamshire, the largest inland marina in the UK. With a water space that covers 23 acres, lapping up against the green and natural borders of the rural landscape, Sawley is peaceful yet well-connected. We are proud to partner with them on this project, which includes upgrading all the pedestals to include LED amenity lighting and integrating new electric boat charging facilities. It goes without saying that the future is looking electrifying for the EV industry and alike, particularly for electricians who are seeking to diversify their offering to their customers. Although the overall vehicle industry experienced a significant downfall in registrations in September 2021, for electric vehicles, the month was its best yet. With just under 33,000 electric vehicles registered, equating to 15.2% of the overall vehicle market share, it’s without a doubt fair to say that the UK is experiencing a significant surge of interest in the adoption of electric vehicles. Doubts were expressed during the infancy of the ‘EV revolution,’ but now, we have never been so sure that electric vehicles are indeed the future. Leading the charge with unparalleled training The ever-growing electric vehicle charging landscape has provided thousands of electrical installers and contractors a wealth of opportunities, from domestic installations, to commercial installations. As more and more drivers make the transition to driving an electric vehicle and businesses begin to deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructures across their premises, now is the perfect time to introduce electric vehicle chargepoint installations to your portfolio. Once completing Universal Skills Group’s electric vehicle charging course, installers can join the OZEV register of approved installers, enabling them to claim the grants for future electric vehicle chargepoint installations. Electrical installers who complete the course will also be welcomed to join Rolec’s dedicated product training webinar, providing them with a thorough understanding of Rolec’s range of AC fast and DC rapid charging solutions, including their smart back office management solutions. Organisations wishing to claim the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Grant (EVHS) or Workplace Charging Grant (WCS) must be authorised by OZEV before any chargepoints are installed. In order to become OZEV registered installers must provide proof of registration to a Competent Person Scheme (CPS). CPS membership with NAPIT will allow you to self-certificate EV Charge points and other notifiable domestic electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations for England and Wales and includes a host of other additional benefits such as a free technical helpline, discounted insurance and certification software, NAPIT FastTest amongst much more. Press "Close My Account" Confirm by pressing "Yes, Close My Account." Once you confirm, your account deletion request will confirmed to you by email and be permanently deleted. This means: You will no longer be able to use your account. All personal data associated with your account will be erased. Any chargers linked to your account will be forgotten. Any shared accounts will lose control of the associated charge points. Alternatively, you can request the deletion of your account by emailing technicalsupport@rolecserv.co.uk . Make sure to specify that you would like your account and all associated data to be deleted. Please note: This process is irreversible, and once completed, your account and data cannot be recovered.
