As industry leaders in providing both AC Fast and DC Rapid chargers across the UK and worldwide, reaching the 200,000 chargepoint installation mark comes at a time when charging infrastructure is pivotal to the adoption of electric vehicles. Numerous industries are benefiting from Rolec’s diverse range of products, whether that be for workplace, commercial, development or home electric vehicle charging purposes. Most businesses in the UK are now reconsidering their carbon footprint and as a result, are choosing Rolec EV as their chargepoint manufacturer for their workplace and/or fleet charging requirements. Similarly, new developments, whether that be homebuilds, warehouses, offices etc are opting to situate chargepoints at their premises to ensure a future-proof solution is in place for the rise in electric vehicles. Frankie Mellon , Head of EV Charging said: “What a superb milestone to reach! Not only are our chargepoints gaining and maintaining momentum in the UK, but across the globe too. Despite the challenges the global economy is facing due to the current pandemic, it is encouraging to know that the industry is evolving, with businesses and individuals making the switch to an electric vehicle. The deployment of worldwide charging infrastructure still has a long way to go and of course, we are proud to be a part of that journey.” For more on our EV charging solutions visit: www.rolecserv.com/ev-charging or contact our team PREVIOUS NEXT Related Posts Introducing the new EV OpenCharge range MG on the Road to Net-Zero in Enhanced Partnership with Rolec EV. • NEW! 4way Quantum:EV!

NEWS EV Charging NEW! 4way Quantum:EV! 12 December 2023 at 11:07:19 Charging four vehicles simultaneously, increasing electric vehicle driving visitor footfall. Electric vehicle registrations are only set to increase, meaning that there is an existing and future requirement for the deployment of EV charging infrastructures across UK destinations. That is why we have introduced the 4way Quantum:EV, enabling four electric vehicles to recharge simultaneously, using just one EV charging pedestal. The 4way Quantum:EV is available in its standard free-to-use format, or its OCPP compliant format via Rolec’s OpenCharge range; both versions are equipped with four 7.2kW Type 2 charging sockets, complete with security hatch locks. The free-to-use format is ideally suited for businesses seeking to offer free charging facilities to their employees and visitors, offering a plug-and-play solution. The OCPP compliant variation is perfect for businesses seeking to offer electric vehicle charging facilities at a cost, enabling the business to generate additional revenue and potential profits in the future. Both formats provide businesses and organisations with a cost-effective electric vehicle charging solution, saving on installation time and costs compared to installing two 2way Quantum:EV charging pedestals. Handcrafted using durable and high precision anodised aluminium, the 4way Quantum:EV provides a long-lasting electric vehicle charging solution for the future of electrified transport. Complete with its unique 360 degree low energy louvered LED lighting head, the 4way Quantum:EV ensures that electric vehicle drivers can easily locate the charging point during the darker hours. Slender and sleek, the 4way Quantum:EV is also the perfect canvas for bespoke branding requirements, allowing businesses and organisations to make their mark on their electric vehicle charging point. When opting for the 4way Quantum:EV OpenCharge (OCPP compliant option), businesses can benefit from the integration of Rolec’s smart back-office management system, VendElectric, enabling them to completely control and manage their own electric vehicle charging network. VendElectric allows businesses to understand chargepoint consumption data; download analytical reports; set chargepoint user tariffs; benefit from over the air firmware updates and much more. Businesses also have the option to utilise VendElectric’s electrical load management feature; a system that enables businesses to maximise their chargepoint potential on restricted supplies. This feature is specifically designed for installations where the electricity feed capacity is insufficient to fully power all charge points at once, intelligently allocating the available power across the chargepoint network to best satisfy real-time demand. Using the 4way Quantum:EV OpenCharge is as easy as 1,2,3; simply pull up, plug in and activate a charging session using either the VendElectric driver app on a smart device and/or tap an assigned RFID card/fob. The 4way Quantum:EV offers the ideal electric vehicle charging solution for businesses seeking to welcome a greater number of EV driving customers to their destination, or for businesses who are looking to deploy charging infrastructure to support their company’s fleet electrification plans. • EV Chargepoint Funding for Schools and Colleges

BLOG EV Charging EV Chargepoint Funding for Schools and Colleges 26 April 2024 at 14:08:16 What funding is available? As of early February 2024, state-funded educational institutions will now have access to funding through the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS). Up to £100,000 of grant funding is available, covering up to 75% of the cost to purchase and install EV chargepoints. Through this grant funding, schools and colleges could receive up to £2,500 per socket , with a maximum of 40 sockets across all sites to be applied to designated, off-street parking facilities. Also, institutions that are part of an academy can apply for up to 40 sockets per institution within the group. The Benefits of EV Charging in Schools It’s not just about funding. There are so many other reasons to install electric car chargers at your school or college. Here are just a few: By setting an example to students and visitors, forward thinking institutions can lead the way in the adoption of electric vehicles. Not just talking the sustainability talk but also walking the sustainability walk. Providing visitors and students with the facilities to make EV charging convenient and adaptable to their needs is a step towards making your campus more accessible to environmentally conscious students. Removing a barrier to EV adoption. EV charging provides an opportunity to generate additional funding that can be fed directly back into the school and the surrounding community. Opening up chargepoints for use by the public outside of opening hours, not only is your institution becoming a charging hub, but also allows for the creation of a completely new revenue stream. Something that can be easily managed with chargepoint management software. Do I qualify? First and foremost, your institution needs to be located in either England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. If you are located in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, you are not eligible for funding via this grant. The educational institution must also be state-funded. This funding does not extend to privately funded schools or colleges. You must have: ● An existing or future need for charging an electric vehicle ● Designated off-street parking facilities that are clearly associated with your premises (the parking may be used by customers, guests, visitors, staff, or others) ● Had a site survey done by an installer, who has confirmed that your site can support EV charging ● Not have applied for a grant for the same chargepoint under the EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets or any other grant scheme ● Have the authority to apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme on behalf of your organisation Both the chargepoint models and your installer must be approved by the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). How do I apply for funding? Once you have checked your eligibility against the above criteria, and have carried out a site survey, you can apply for funding via the Government website . Note: You will need to provide your institution's ID, reference number or SEED in order to move forward with your application. Successful applicants will then receive a voucher code that will be valid for 180 days, that must be passed on to your chosen installer. All installations must be carried out within this 6-month period. After which point, your installer must then apply for funding using the online forms available on the Government website. Further information for installers: You must fill out an installer claim form for each institution in which you carried out a chargepoint installation. Note: Section 4 of the form must be completed by the educational institution. To accompany this, you will also need to complete a grant claim form detailing the location of all installations and the total cost of installation, as well as other relevant project information. This form can collate information from multiple different institutions. Both forms must then be emailed directly to workplacechargingscheme@dvla.gov.uk . For installers that are employed by the education institution, there is a separate application process . When is the deadline to apply? The current deadline for funding applications is 31st March 2025. Contact us to learn how we can assist you with grant applications and support the implementation of workplace charging solutions.
