  • Rolec chosen as Saint Gobain’s chargepoint partner for the roll out of 4,500 EV charging points

Rolec chosen as Saint Gobain’s chargepoint partner for the roll out of 4,500 EV charging points NEWS EV Charging Rolec chosen as Saint Gobain’s chargepoint partner for the roll out of 4,500 EV charging points 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 SAINT-GOBAIN UK & IRELAND, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and distributors of building solutions has signed a new partnership with ROLEC , one of the UK’s leading charging manufacturers, to support the delivery of a 1,000 charger point network across Saint-Gobain’s sites, offices and retail branches over the next 5 years. The agreement comes on top of Saint-Gobain’s recent commitment to move all of its 3,200 company cars to fully electric by the end of 2023, investments in new Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil [HVO] HGV’s, which will reduce CO2 per mile by around a quarter for its British Gypsum, Artex and some distribution brands and the roll out of electric Mechanical Handling Equipment. The 1,000 charging point network is in addition to Saint-Gobain’s commitment to install an electric car charging point fitted at 3,200 company car drivers’ homes where they are able to accommodate a charging point. Over the next five years Saint-Gobain expect these changes to remove 11,000 tonnes of CO2 from their activity. “Our purpose is Making the World a Better Home and reducing our carbon footprint is integral to this. We are committed to be net zero carbon by 2050 and meet additional science based targets by 2030 so it’s essential we act quickly where we can and accelerate the actions we’re taking to reduce the carbon footprint of our transportation and reduce the impact on the planet from our colleagues who need to drive for work”, said Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland CEO, MIKE CHALDECOTT. The 1,000 charging point network will allow colleagues and visitors to recharge whilst on-site with brands such as Jewson, British Gypsum, Gibbs & Dandy, Minster and all Saint-Gobain office locations. All Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland brands will benefit from chargers being installed; 500 of the 1,000 locations will be at Jewson branches. Roll-out of the charging point network is already underway with 750 expected to be installed each year for the next 5 years. Saint-Gobain will also be using Rolec’s charger management system, VendElectric, which will allow the business to control and manage the charging network and allow it to assess usage and enable colleagues and visitors to find information on real-time charger availability. Saint-Gobain will also be using Rolec’s charger management system, VendElectric, which will allow the business to control and manage the charging network and allow it to assess usage and enable colleagues and visitors to find information on real-time charger availability. Mike Chaldecott added: “Having an extensive charging network, for colleagues and visitors, is essential to making the rapid transition to electric cars as easy as possible for people. From the end of 2023 we want colleagues travelling in a company vehicle or on company business to do that in an ultra-low emission electric or hybrid car and over the next five years, with the help of this new partnership we’ll be installing more than 4,000 charging locations country wide – 1,000 of them on our sites for colleagues and visitors. Taking action like this will help us make the change happen as quickly as possible and we’re very pleased with this small but important step to help make the world a better home.” Jake Hudson , Business Development Manager at Rolec, said: “We are looking forward to working with Saint-Gobain and its brands to provide their locations with electric vehicle charging solutions, suited to their individual requirements. Knowing that businesses like Saint-Gobain are making sustainable commitments for the future of transport is encouraging for the UK’s wider environmental/climate plans; we are delighted to be a part of Saint Gobain’s electric journey for now and for the future.” PREVIOUS NEXT Related Posts Lake District National Park installs charging infrastructure across its sites to support their electrification plans Mercedes-Benz South West and Rolec partnership supports the acceleration of EV adoption in the UK Rolec supports Willmott Dixon’s fleet electrification plans

Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in the EV charging industry, UK manufacturing leader Rolec has created a brand-new unit to meet the growing demands of businesses and organisations across the globe. Developed and manufactured in the UK, HEX is the latest and most intelligent electric vehicle charging pedestal on the market; a distinctive new offering that prioritises space like no other. Its unique and innovative quad-outlet design is ideal for centrally located parking bays, reducing groundwork and installation requirements while maximising charging availability for EV drivers. Constructed of robust steel and created with a small footprint, HEX is purpose-built for commercial, workplace, and public charging environments. The same attention to design continues internally: effortless OCPP integration, optional plug & go, and a choice of 2 or 4-way 22kW charging makes for a fully configurable and seamless solution. It offers easy access from both sides, includes a lockable internal access door as standard, supports split phase supply, and is engineered with compactness and deployment efficiency in mind. Additional features include small, diffused LED amenity lighting for accessibility in low-light locations. The unit also conforms to the PAS 1899 accessible charging standard, delivering EV charging for all users. HEX is not only a smart choice for infrastructure, but also a smart choice for funding. Eligible for 4 separate government grants, its four-socket design provides excellent value and investment potential for businesses, local authorities, and destination venues. • NEW! 4way Quantum:EV!

NEW! 4way Quantum:EV! NEWS EV Charging NEW! 4way Quantum:EV! 6 January 2026 at 12:50:07 Charging four vehicles simultaneously, increasing electric vehicle driving visitor footfall. Electric vehicle registrations are only set to increase, meaning that there is an existing and future requirement for the deployment of EV charging infrastructures across UK destinations. That is why we have introduced the 4way Quantum:EV, enabling four electric vehicles to recharge simultaneously, using just one EV charging pedestal. The 4way Quantum:EV is available in its standard free-to-use format, or its OCPP compliant format via Rolec’s OpenCharge range; both versions are equipped with four 7.2kW Type 2 charging sockets, complete with security hatch locks. The free-to-use format is ideally suited for businesses seeking to offer free charging facilities to their employees and visitors, offering a plug-and-play solution. The OCPP compliant variation is perfect for businesses seeking to offer electric vehicle charging facilities at a cost, enabling the business to generate additional revenue and potential profits in the future. Both formats provide businesses and organisations with a cost-effective electric vehicle charging solution, saving on installation time and costs compared to installing two 2way Quantum:EV charging pedestals. Handcrafted using durable and high precision anodised aluminium, the 4way Quantum:EV provides a long-lasting electric vehicle charging solution for the future of electrified transport. Complete with its unique 360 degree low energy louvered LED lighting head, the 4way Quantum:EV ensures that electric vehicle drivers can easily locate the charging point during the darker hours. Slender and sleek, the 4way Quantum:EV is also the perfect canvas for bespoke branding requirements, allowing businesses and organisations to make their mark on their electric vehicle charging point. When opting for the 4way Quantum:EV OpenCharge (OCPP compliant option), businesses can benefit from the integration of Rolec’s smart back-office management system, VendElectric, enabling them to completely control and manage their own electric vehicle charging network. VendElectric allows businesses to understand chargepoint consumption data; download analytical reports; set chargepoint user tariffs; benefit from over the air firmware updates and much more. Businesses also have the option to utilise VendElectric’s electrical load management feature; a system that enables businesses to maximise their chargepoint potential on restricted supplies. This feature is specifically designed for installations where the electricity feed capacity is insufficient to fully power all charge points at once, intelligently allocating the available power across the chargepoint network to best satisfy real-time demand. Using the 4way Quantum:EV OpenCharge is as easy as 1,2,3; simply pull up, plug in and activate a charging session using either the VendElectric driver app on a smart device and/or tap an assigned RFID card/fob. The 4way Quantum:EV offers the ideal electric vehicle charging solution for businesses seeking to welcome a greater number of EV driving customers to their destination, or for businesses who are looking to deploy charging infrastructure to support their company’s fleet electrification plans.
